Special Statement
Issued: 4:09 AM CDT Jul. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Elevated heat index values expected each afternoon today
through much of the week along and east of the Interstate 35
corridor...

Afternoon temperatures in the upper 90s and lower 100s through the
next several days will combine with high moisture to create heat
index values in the 104 to 108 degree range for portions of south
central Texas along and east of the Interstate 35 corridor. Even
hotter conditions look probable late in the week and an upgrade to
a heat advisory may be needed.

Please take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside
in the afternoon. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing if
possible, and make sure you drink plenty of water and take
frequent breaks while working outside in the heat.
