The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Pee Dee River at Cheraw
* from this afternoon to Thursday evening... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 7 am Tuesday the stage was 25.4 feet.
* Flood stage is 30.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will rise above flood stage this afternoon
and crest around 32.9 feet Wednesday morning. The river will fall
below flood stage by late Wednesday evening.
* At 33.0 feet... southeast of Wallace... water spreads onto Old River
Road between community Road and Highway 912.
* At 30.0 feet... large areas of river bottomland around Cheraw
become flooded. Portions of Riverside Park become flooded.

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 25 to 33 knots
and or seas of 6 ft or greater are expected to produce hazardous
wave conditions to small craft. Inexperienced mariners,
especially those operating smaller vessels should avoid
navigating in these conditions.
