Heat Advisory
Issued: 3:31 PM EDT Jul. 23, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory in effect from 11 am to 8 PM EDT Sunday...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a heat
advisory... which is in effect from 11 am to 8 PM EDT Sunday.

* Heat index values... up to 106.

* Temperatures... in the low to mid 90s.

* Timing... the hottest heat index values will occur during the
late afternoon and early evening.

* Impacts... the combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

To reduce the risk of heat illness during outdoor work the
occupational safety and health administration recommends
scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned
environments.

Never leave children or pets unattended in a closed up vehicle
during the day. In just 15 minutes... temperatures inside the
vehicle could easily surpass 140 degrees. Outdoor livestock and
pets will also need plenty of shade... a well ventilated
environment... and plenty of accessible drinking water.
