... Beach hazards statement now in effect through Saturday evening...

The National Weather Service in Wilmington continues a beach hazards
statement which is in effect tonight and Saturday... ending at 8 PM
Saturday night.

Southwest winds around 20 mph with higher gusts will continue to
produce a strong longshore current. These strong currents will affect
the beaches of Pender... New Hanover... Horry and Georgetown counties.
