... Flood Warning extended until Saturday evening... the Flood Warning continues
for
the San Bernard River near Boling
* until Saturday evening... or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0746 PM Thursday the stage was 22.6 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 18.0 feet. Moderate flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 22.8 feet by after midnight
tomorrow. The river will fall below flood stage Saturday morning.
* At 22.0 feet... moderate lowland flooding begins upstream from the gage with
significant backwater flooding up Peach Creek in Wharton County inundating low
lying areas. Minor backwater flooding up Snake Creek in Fort Bend County
begins.

The Flood Warning continues for
the San Bernard River near Sweeny
* from Friday afternoon to Saturday morning... or until the warning is canceled.
* At 0800 am Thursday the stage was 11.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow early afternoon and continue to
rise to near 16.1 feet by tomorrow evening. The river will fall below flood
stage by tomorrow late evening.
* At 16.0 feet... minor lowland flooding begins. Water is over the mid level
walkway at the Phillips terminal near Sweeny and tugs can not push barges
upstream and are unable to dock.

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 9 am CST Friday...

The National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston has issued a
dense fog advisory... which is in effect until 9 am CST Friday.

* Event... dense fog.

* Timing... through mid morning.

* Impact... motorists should drive with extreme caution and allow
additional travel time. Use low beams... reduce driving
speed... and allow for plenty of room between you and other cars.
You can overtake another vehicle quickly in poor
visibilities... so slow down and drive defensively.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.
