Issued: 4:26 AM EDT Apr. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect through Tuesday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of central North Carolina, including the following
areas. Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Durham,
Edgecombe, Forsyth, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Halifax,
Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Orange,
person, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Vance,
wake, Warren, Wayne, and Wilson.

* Through Tuesday morning.

* Widespread rain along with isolated thunderstorms are expected
tonight through Monday evening, with periods of heavy rain.
Storm total rainfall amounts of 3 to 5 inches are expected.

* The long duration of the rain through Monday night will saturate

the water levels by Monday, including the Yadkin, haw, Neuse,
tar, Roanoke, and Cape Fear.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts. Monitor later forecasts and be alert for
possible flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding
should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
