Dense Fog Advisory
Issued: 3:31 AM EST Jan. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Dense fog advisory in effect until 10 am EST this morning...

The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg has issued
a dense fog advisory... which is in effect until 10 am EST this
morning.

* Locations... the foothills and western Piedmont of North Carolina
and the upstate of South Carolina east of the Saluda River
valley.

* Visibility... one quarter mile or less at times.

* Impacts... limited visibilities will make travel very difficult.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be
reduced to less than one quarter mile. If driving... slow down...
use your headlights... and leave plenty of distance ahead of you.

Special Statement
Issued: 8:48 PM EST Jan. 20, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Patchy dense fog likely overnight across northeast
Georgia... upstate South Carolina... and the North Carolina
foothills and Piedmont...

Abundant low level moisture and light winds across the region will
lead to the development of low clouds and areas of fog overnight.
A few locations could see visibility drop quickly to one-quarter
mile or less in dense fog. In addition, the visibility across the
region may change very quickly over short distances.

Allow extra time to reach your destination if traveling in this
area overnight. If dense fog develops and begins to become more
widespread, a dense fog advisory could be needed.
