... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 345 PM EDT
for Camden... Pasquotank... Perquimans... northwestern Currituck and
central Chowan counties...

At 310 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near northwest to near Chapanoke to near Valhalla,
moving east at 25 mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... expect damage to trees and powerlines.

These severe storms will be near...
Elizabeth City around 315 PM EDT.
Elizabeth City State University and Moyock around 325 PM EDT.
Camden and Whitehall Shores around 335 PM EDT.
Shiloh around 340 PM EDT.
Indiantown and Nixonton around 345 PM EDT.

Other locations impacted by these severe thunderstorms include Bob
White Fork, Horseshoe, Pierceville, Parkville, Tar Corner, Yeopim
Station, Nicanor, Gregory, Sharon and Pasquotank.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.

... A line of strong thunderstorms will affect northeastern Bertie...
gates... northwestern Chowan... northwestern Camden... western
Pasquotank... northwestern Perquimans... southeastern Hertford... Isle
of Wight and southeastern Surry counties... the west Central City of
Norfolk... the western city of Chesapeake... the city of Hampton... the
southern city of Newport News... the city of Portsmouth and the city
of Suffolk...

At 219 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from 6 miles northwest of Isle of Wight to
near Ryland. Movement was northeast at 30 mph.

Wind gusts in excess of 40 mph are possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Newport News, Hampton, Elizabeth City, Smithfield, Windsor, Hertford,
Winfall, Gatesville, Langley AFB, Ryland, South Mills, Deep Creek,
Churchland, Sunbury, Hampton University, Christopher Newport
University, downtown Suffolk, Holland, Old Dominion University and
Norfolk.

Strong wind gusts are possible with these storms. These wind gusts
are capable of knocking down tree limbs... small or weakened trees...
and blowing around trash cans... potted plants... lawn furniture and
other light outdoor objects.

Motorists should use extra caution in the vicinity of these storms.
Be prepared for rapid changes in weather and Road conditions. Heavy
rain could cause ponding of water on roads... and possible minor
flooding of ditches and poor drainage areas.
