Issued: 7:38 AM EDT Apr. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Orange County in central North Carolina...
northeastern Chatham County in central North Carolina...

* until 1130 am EDT

* at 737 am EDT, Doppler radar indicated an area of moderate rain
moving east-to-west across the Triangle. Much of this region has
received between 4 to 5 inches of rain since Sunday morning.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are possible over
the next 2 to 3 hours in the warned area. This additional rain
will aggravate any ongoing flooding. Orange County emergency
officials have reported several flooded roads across southern
portions of the County, including flooding in the parking lot of
Camelot Village in Chapel HIll

* some locations that will experience flooding include...
Chapel HIll, Hillsborough, Pittsboro, Carrboro, Mebane, Crosswinds
boating center, Carr, Efland, Crosswinds campground and Eno River
State Park.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as
well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
