The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
southeastern Greene County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
southwestern Fayette County in southwestern Pennsylvania...
Monongalia County in northern West Virginia...
Marion County in northern West Virginia...

* until 1230 am EDT.

* At 855 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Morgantown, Fairmont, Uniontown, Westover, Mannington, Star City,
Pleasant Valley, Winfield, Barrackville, Point Marion, Monongah and
Granville.

Additional rainfall amounts up to two inches are possible in the
warned area.

This includes the following highways...
Interstate 68 in West Virginia between mile markers 1 and 10.

Interstate 79 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 0 and 4.

Interstate 79 in West Virginia between mile markers 133 and 160.

Flash Flood Watch

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 2 am EDT Saturday...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of western Maryland, east central Ohio, Pennsylvania,
and West Virginia.

* Until 2 am EDT Saturday

* rainfall amounts up to three inches have fallen in the watch
area due to the remnants of Cindy and an approaching cold
front. Numerous water rescues and flooding have been reported
especially across Westmoreland, Fayette, and Greene counties.

* Flooded roads along with streams and creeks out of their banks
are occurring in several parts of the watch area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
