... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 645 PM EDT for Dickenson
and Buchanan counties...

* at 418 PM EDT, moderate rain continues to fall across southwest
   Virginia. After multiple days of rain, and more on the way
   through tonight, area creeks, streams, culverts, and roadside
   ditches will have a difficult time handling additional rainfall.

* Low water crossings and roads near creeks and streams will
   experience flooding, as well as other low lying areas. Poorly
   maintained culverts and roadside ditches will also flood. Debris
   flows are possible as well. Road closures are expected.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
   Clintwood, Grundy, Haysi, breaks Interstate, Davenport, John
   Flannagan Lake, Big Rock, Trammel, Paw Paw, Clinchco, Oakwood,
   Stacy, Nora, Vansant, Hurley, McClure and Roseann.

Up to an inch of additional rainfall is possible in the warned area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of southwest Virginia and southern West Virginia,
including the following areas, in southwest Virginia, Buchanan
and Dickenson. In southern West Virginia, McDowell and
Wyoming.

* Until midnight EDT tonight

* another wave of heavy rainfall is expected today. This could
lead to flash flooding, particularly along flood prone creeks
and streams, and adjacent low lying areas.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should warnings be issued.
