... Coastal flood advisory in effect until 2 PM EDT this
afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington DC has
issued a coastal flood advisory, which is in effect until 2 PM
EDT this afternoon.

* Location... shoreline in District of Columbia and Arlington
County and the city of Alexandria.

* Tidal departure... 1.2 feet.

* Timing... around the time of high tide.

* Impacts... minor shoreline inundation is possible elsewhere.

* Timing... around the time of high tide. High tide at Washington
Channel will be at 11:48 am, Alexandria at 12:06 PM.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.



Forecast tides are referenced to mean lower low water (mllw) and
mean higher high water (mhhw) unless otherwise noted. Time of
high total tide is approximate to nearest hour. Total tide
combines the normal tide and departure from normal. Flood impact
is based on the total tide and waves where applicable.
