... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Friday afternoon through
Saturday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southeast Maryland,
including the following areas, Dorchester, inland Worcester,
Maryland beaches, Somerset, and Wicomico.

* From Friday afternoon through Saturday afternoon

* moderate to heavy rainfall is expected from Friday afternoon
through Saturday afternoon across the lower Maryland Eastern
Shore. Total rainfall amounts of 3 to 4 inches are expected on
average, with locally higher amounts. Additional showers and
thunderstorms are expected through Sunday night, with an
additional one half to one inch possible.

* Heavy rainfall may result in rapid rises in streams and creeks.
This could quickly result in flooding, especially in low lying
and poor drainage areas. Flooding my be exacerbated during
periods of high tide.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
