Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch, Coastal Flood Statement
Issued: 3:56 AM EDT Jul. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 2 PM EDT this
afternoon through Saturday afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southeast Maryland, including the following
areas, Dorchester, inland Worcester, Maryland beaches,
Somerset, and Wicomico.

* From 2 PM EDT this afternoon through Saturday afternoon.

* Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected from Friday afternoon
through Saturday afternoon across the lower Maryland Eastern
Shore. Total rainfall amounts of 3 to 4 inches are expected on
average, with locally higher amounts possible.

* Heavy rainfall may result in rapid rises in streams and
creeks. This could quickly result in flooding, especially in
low lying and poor drainage areas. Flooding my be exacerbated
during periods of high tide.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
