Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 11:26 PM EDT Jul. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

* flood advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for...
Sussex County in southern Delaware...
Talbot County in eastern Maryland...
southwestern Queen Anne's County in northeastern Maryland...
southern Caroline County in eastern Maryland...

* until 315 am EDT

* at 1121 PM EDT... heavy rain from thunderstorms will cause minor
flooding in poor drainage areas in the advisory area. Doppler
radar and automated rain gauges indicated between one and two
inches of rain has already fallen across portions Talbot County.

* Some locations that could experience flooding include...
Easton, Georgetown, Talbot, Seaford, Millsboro, Laurel,
Federalsburg, Bridgeville, Trappe, St. Michaels, Dagsboro, Preston,
Oxford, Millville, Henlopen Acres, Smithville, Gumboro,
Copperville, Agner and Choptank.

Additional rainfall of around an inch is expected over the area
through late tonight. However, locally higher amounts in excess of
two inches is possible in far southern Delaware. This additional
rain will result in minor flooding.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... country roads... farmland... and other low lying
spots.
