Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 11:19 AM EDT May. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch in effect until 10 PM EDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in State College has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of central Pennsylvania,
including the following areas, Bedford and Somerset.

* Until 10 PM EDT this evening

* locally very heavy rain of over one inch in just 30 minutes
will fall from slow moving showers and thunderstorms as they
drift from southwest to northeast across the region this
afternoon and evening.

* Rainfall amounts of just 1 to 1.5 inches in an hour, or 1.5 to 2
inches in a 3 hour period would be enough to greatly increase
the threat for flash flooding given the already very moist
ground from recent rainfall.
