... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through Saturday afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of western Maryland, Pennsylvania, and northern West
Virginia, including the following areas, in western Maryland,
Garrett. In Pennsylvania, Fayette, Fayette ridges, Indiana,
Westmoreland, and Westmoreland ridges. In northern West
Virginia, eastern Preston, eastern Tucker, Preston, ridges of
eastern Monongalia and northwestern Preston, and western
Tucker.

* Through Saturday afternoon

* showers and storms capable of excessive heavy rain are expected
starting Friday morning and continuing into Saturday as low
pressure crosses the region.

* System totals of 2 to 3 inches of rain are expected, with some
isolated higher totals. Such rainfall could lead to flash
flooding.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
