Issued: 5:57 PM EDT Jun. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* flood advisory for...
southeastern Allegheny County in southwestern Pennsylvania...

* until 900 PM EDT.

* At 555 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated rain due to thunderstorms
will continue to move through the area. Although rainfall rates
have decreased in the last hour, additional rain will allow
flooding to continue, particularly in Baldwin and Dravosburg.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Pittsburgh, Mount Lebanon, Bethel Park, Monroeville, McKeesport,
West Mifflin, Baldwin, Wilkinsburg, Whitehall, South Park township,
Munhall and Jefferson Hills.

Please report flooding by calling 412-262-1988, posting to
the NWS Pittsburgh facebook Page, or using twitter @nwspittsburgh.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect until 2 am EDT Saturday...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of western Maryland, east central Ohio, southwestern Pennsylvania,
and northern West Virginia.

* Until 2 am EDT Saturday

* rainfall amounts up to 2.5 inches are possible due to the
remnants of Cindy and an approaching cold front. Rainfall
amounts could be upwards of 4 inches if a location experiences
a series of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

* Flooded roads along with streams and creeks out of their banks
are likely where the heaviest rainfall occurs.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
