... Freezing Rain Advisory now in effect until noon EDT today...

* locations... the Berkshires of western Massachusetts, southern
Vermont and the Litchfield Hills of northern Litchfield County.

* Hazard types... freezing rain.

* Ice accumulations... a few hundredths to around a tenth of an
inch, except up to a quarter inch along the eastern spine of the
southern Green Mountains.

* Timing... freezing rain will continue across parts of the area
this morning and gradually transition to plain rain by the mid
to late morning hours.

* Impacts... hazardous driving and walking due to icy roads and
walkways.

* Temperatures... in the lower to middle 30s.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Freezing Rain Advisory means that periods of freezing rain or
freezing drizzle will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving.
