Special Statement
Issued: 6:54 PM EST Dec. 2, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Patchy black ice is possible tonight on northern and east central
Maine roadways..

Motorists should be aware that water from melting snow earlier
today will re-freeze into the overnight as temperatures drop below
freezing... especially on untreated Road surfaces. A thin layer of
patchy black ice may be hidden by additional snow showers
expected over northern and east central Maine overnight. Motorists
should be careful when approaching curves and other vehicles ahead
of you by slowing down and remembering that you may not have the
traction or stopping distance afforded under normal Road
conditions.
