... Flood Watch remains in effect from 1 PM EST this afternoon
through Tuesday morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Massachusetts and Rhode Island... including the
following in Massachusetts... Bristol... central ... and
southeast Middlesex... Essex... Norfolk... Plymouth and Suffolk.
In Rhode Island... Bristol... Kent... Newport... Providence and
Washington.

* From 1 PM EST this afternoon through Tuesday morning

* heavy rain is expected Monday evening through early Tuesday
morning. Most locations can expect between 1.50 and 3 inches of
rain with localized higher amounts.

* Locations that receive 3 or more inches of rain may experience
localized urban and perhaps some minor small stream flooding. Larger
mainstem rivers should remain within their banks.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means flooding is possible. If you live or work in
an area prone to flooding... take the time now to protect any
items that could be damaged by flood waters.

Drivers should be prepared for slower than usual commutes Monday
afternoon and possibly Tuesday morning. Know alternate routes in
case roads become flooded. Never drive through a flooded roadway!

... Wind Advisory in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 am EST
Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 1 PM this afternoon to 7 am
EST Tuesday. The high wind watch is no longer in effect.

* Location... western and southern Plymouth County in southeast
Massachusetts.

* Timing... strongest winds will occur tonight into early Tuesday
morning.

* Winds... northeast 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 55 mph.

* Impacts... winds will increase today with the strongest of the
winds coming tonight into early Tuesday morning. These winds
will be capable of Downing a few trees and may result in
isolated power outages. These winds may also cause localized
property damage.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 31 to 39 mph are
expected... with gusts between 46 to 57 mph. Winds this strong are
capable of Downing small tree limbs and branches, possibly
causing isolated power outages. Driving can also be difficult...
especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

A Storm Warning means winds of 48 to 63 knots are imminent or
occurring. Recreational boaters should remain in port... or take
shelter until winds and waves subside. Commercial vessels should
prepare for very strong winds and dangerous sea conditions... and
consider remaining in port or taking shelter in port until winds
and waves subside.
