... Coastal Flood Warning remains in effect from 6 am to noon EST Tuesday...
... Coastal Flood Advisory for tonight is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Taunton has cancelled the coastal Flood
Advisory.

* Location... Cape Cod and Nantucket.

* Tidal departure..as much as 3 to 4 feet Tuesday morning.

* Timing... 6 am to noon Tuesday.

* Coastal flood impacts... widespread minor flooding Tuesday morning
with pockets of moderate flooding likely.

* Shoreline impacts... significant beach erosion likely on east facing
shorelines.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Moderate coastal flooding produces widespread flooding of vulnerable
shore roads and/or basements due to the height of the storm tide and/or wave
action. Numerous Road closures are needed. Lives may be at risk for people who
put themselves in harms way. Isolated structural damage may be
possible.

High Wind Warning
Issued: 10:10 PM EST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST Tuesday...

* location... Cape Cod... Marthas Vineyard... Nantucket... and Block
Island.

* Timing... strongest winds will occur through 4 am Tuesday.

* Winds... east 25 to 35 mph with gusts between 50 and 60 mph.

* Impacts... these winds will be capable of Downing a few trees and
may result in isolated power outages. In addition... localized
property damage is possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning is issued when sustained winds of 40 mph are
expected for at least one hour... with gusts of 58 mph or greater
at any time. Damage to trees... power lines... and property are
possible with winds of this magnitude. Power outages are likely.
Take action to secure loose outdoor objects.





Storm Warning
Issued: 10:16 PM EST Jan. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Storm Warning remains in effect until 7 am EST Tuesday...

* winds and seas... east winds 30 to 40 kt with gusts up to 60
kt. Seas 24 to 29 feet.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Storm Warning means winds of 48 to 63 knots are imminent or
occurring. Recreational boaters should remain in port... or take
shelter until winds and waves subside. Commercial vessels should
prepare for very strong winds and dangerous sea conditions... and
consider remaining in port or taking shelter in port until winds
and waves subside.
