... Red flag warning in effect until 8 PM PDT this evening for
wind and low relative humidity for central Cascade valleys and
Waterville Plateau...

The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a red flag
warning for wind and low relative humidity... which is in effect
until 8 PM PDT this evening.

* Affected area: western fire weather zone 673 East Washington
northern Columbia Basin (zone 673) and fire weather zone 677
East Washington central Cascade valleys (zone 677).

* Winds: northwest 8 to 15 mph with gusts to 20 mph this morning
and afternoon. Increasing northwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up
to 30 mph after 1500 PDT.

* Haines: near 5 this morning decreasing to 2 by the evening.

* Relative humidities: 15 to 20 percent.

* Impacts: any ongoing or new fires will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
