Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 5:51 PM PST Feb. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Pendleton Oregon has issued a

* flood advisory for...
snowmelt in...
southeastern Yakima County in south central Washington...

* until 545 PM PST Wednesday

* snowmelt will continue to cause minor flooding across part of
Yakima County through Wednesday afternoon. Local law enforcement
and the public reported snowmelt causing minor flooding in the
city of Yakima, along 81st Avenue and summitview. There was also
minor flooding in a subdivision in West Valley with some runoff
draining into crawlspaces.

Temperatures will fall to below freezing overnight, but are
expected to warm into the 40s again on Wednesday with another round
of snowmelt. If you live near an area of poor drainage, be aware of
rising water and take action now to clear debris from storm drains.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
