Watches & Warnings

High Surf Advisory
Issued: 6:12 PM PST Dec. 2, 2016 – National Weather Service

... High surf advisory remains in effect from 2 am to noon PST
Saturday for the South Washington coast and central and north
Oregon coasts...

* seas... building quickly to 19 to 22 ft late tonight before
gradually subsiding Saturday.

* Impacts... large breaking waves along the coast will lead to
increased wave run-up on beaches with waves topping and
Washington over large rocks and jetties. These waves can be
erratic... unpredictable... and move large logs stuck on the beach
from previous storms. Use extra caution near the surf zone as
these large waves will be capable of sweeping people into the
frigid and turbulent ocean waters.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing rip currents and localized beach
erosion.
