... Beach hazards statement now in effect through 8 PM PDT Wednesday
evening...

* hazards... large shore breaks... rip currents... and sneaker
waves.

* Timing... tonight through 8 PM PDT Wednesday.

* Location... the coastline from northern Sonoma County south
through southern Monterey County. In particular west to
northwest facing beaches including but not limited to Ocean
Beach... Montara State Beach... Marina state beach... Monterey
State Beach... and Asilomar State Beach.

* Potential impacts... large shore breaks could injure beachgoers.
Sneaker waves could knock unsuspecting people into the cold...
turbulent ocean. Rip currents could pull people out to sea.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A beach hazard statement means potentially dangerous conditions
exist specifically west to northwest facing beaches. These hazards
include large shore break... strong rip currents... and sneaker waves...
all of which could be life threatening. Be sure to always keep your
eyes on the ocean.
