... High surf advisory now in effect until 4 PM PST Tuesday...

* surf... breaking waves of 15 to 18 feet will subside to 10 to 15
feet by this evening. Then on Monday another swell will sustain
the swell at 10 to 13 feet through Tuesday.

* Impacts... large waves and strong rip currents will increase
the risk of ocean drowning for swimmers and surfers. Large
breaking waves can cause injury... wash people off beaches and
rocks... and capsize small boats nearshore.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.

... Wind Advisory in effect from 6 am Monday to 6 am PST Tuesday...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Wind Advisory, which is in effect from 6 am Monday to 6 am PST
Tuesday.

* Winds... south to southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40
mph.

* Impacts... the combination of gusty winds and very wet soils will
result in an increased threat of downed trees.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

When driving, use extra caution. Be prepared for sudden gusty
cross winds.
