Winter Storm Warning
Issued: 5:05 AM MST Jan. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 5 PM this
afternoon to midnight MST Saturday night...

* locations include the cities of... Ridgway... Glade Park...
Telluride... Ouray... Lake city.

* Timing... light snow begins to spread across higher elevations
of the plateau Thursday morning becoming moderate to heavy at
times Thursday evening through sunrise on Friday. A downward
trend in precipitation will occur from time to time over some
areas during the day Friday. The next system quickly arrives
by late Friday afternoon with snow continuing through Saturday
night.

* Snow accumulation... 10 to 14 inches mainly over 8000 feet.

* Winds... southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Impacts... roadways will be slushy to snow packed by Thursday
evening leading to winter driving conditions through the
weekend. Visibilities will be reduced to under a half mile at
times with moderate to heavy snow rates occurring.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.
