... Flash Flood Watch now in effect from Saturday afternoon
through Sunday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of east Arkansas, southeast Missouri, and west
Tennessee, including the following areas, in east Arkansas,
Clay, Craighead, Crittenden, cross, Greene, Lawrence, Lee,
Mississippi, Phillips, Poinsett, Randolph, and St. Francis. In
southeast Missouri, Dunklin and Pemiscot. In west Tennessee,
Dyer, Lake, and Obion.

* From Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening

* several rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected to
produce between 2 to 3 inches across the watch area, with
localized areas of up to 5 inches possible.


* Recent rainfall has saturated soils across the watch area. Any
additional heavy rainfall may result in the potential for
flash flooding and subsequent river flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

The National Weather Service in Memphis has issued a Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 9 am to 7 PM CDT Saturday.

* Winds... south winds sustained of 20 to 30 mph... with gusts to
40 mph.

* Timing... 9 am CDT Saturday morning through 7 PM CDT Saturday
evening.

* Impacts... loose outdoor items will be vulnerable in the wind.
Driving may become hazardous... especially for high profile
vehicles on west to east roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 25 to 39 mph are
expected... or gusts will range between 40 and 57 mph. Winds this
strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile
vehicles. Use extra caution.
