... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 900 am CDT for
northern Desha... southern Monroe... eastern Jefferson... northeastern
Drew... Lincoln and Arkansas counties...

At 651 am CDT, Doppler radar continued to indicate heavy rains
falling over the warned area, especially in eastern Arkansas and
southern Monroe counties. Radar estimates as much as 2 to 3 inches
of rain have fallen in the last three hours, and with heavy rains
continuing to affect the warned area, flash flooding is likely to
occur.

The Flood Warning continues for
the White River at Clarendon.
* Until Saturday afternoon... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:00 PM Thursday the stage was 26.1 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 26.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
tomorrow morning.
* Impacts at 26.0 feet... river flows in many side channels and creates
islands between the river and sloughs and creeks. Flooding of
cropland and Timber is occurring. Portions of the National wildlife
Refuge downstream of Clarendon flooding.

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of central Arkansas, eastern Arkansas, southeast
Arkansas, and southwest Arkansas, including the following
areas, in central Arkansas, Lonoke and prairie. In eastern
Arkansas, Monroe and Woodruff. In southeast Arkansas,
Arkansas, Bradley, Cleveland, Desha, Drew, Jefferson, and
Lincoln. In southwest Arkansas, Calhoun.

* Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon

* parts of the watch area may received one to two inches of rain
this morning before the remnants of Tropical Storm Cindy exit
the region to the east.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding.
