West Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana...
East Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern Louisiana...

* until 1030 am CST

* at 726 am CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across portions of the Baton Rouge Metro area. Up to
two inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is expected
to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Baton Rouge, Zachary, Baker, Port Allen, Oak Hills Place, Addis,
Brusly, greenwell Spring, Pride, merrydale, Gardere, Westminster,
brownfields, Inniswold and Baton Rouge Airport.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.

At 706 am CST, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 7 miles northeast of Gloster to near Felps to
near Pride. Movement was northeast at 45 mph.

Winds in excess of 40 mph will be possible with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
McComb, Clinton, Liberty, Greensburg, Magnolia, Kentwood, Summit,
Tylertown, Gloster, Osyka, Easleyville, Salem, Darlington, Pride,
gillsberg, Felps, Mount Herman, Smithdale, Tangipahoa and McComb
Airport.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms, and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
