Issued: 3:27 AM CST Jan. 16, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until noon CST
today...

* timing... freezing rain... mixed with sleet... will spread
northeast this morning. Light glazing from freezing rain is
most likely across the northern half of the Chicago Metro
area... primarily north of the Interstate 88 corridor.
Precipitation should transition to all rain by around noon.

* Main impact... ice accumulation of less than a tenth of an inch.

* Other impacts... accumulation of ice on untreated roads will make
travel hazardous during the morning commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow... sleet... or
freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for
slippery roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while
driving.
