Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued: 11:27 AM EDT May. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Coastal flood advisory remains in effect from 6 PM this
evening to midnight EDT tonight...

* location... Delaware beaches, southern New Jersey shore, and
the shores of the Delaware Bay.

* Coastal flooding... widespread minor flooding is expected around
the time of high tide this evening.

* Timing... high tide on the southern New Jersey and Delaware
oceanfront occurs between 7 PM and 8 PM this evening. High tide
on the back bays and along Delaware Bay occurs later than the
high tide on the oceanfront.

* Surge... around 1 foot above the astronomical tide.

* Waves... 3 to 5 feet on the ocean side.

* Impacts... localized roadway flooding is expected. Some roads
will be closed due to high water.

* Outlook... minor coastal flood is again possible with the high
tide cycles Thursday evening and Friday evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A coastal flood advisory means that minor tidal flooding is
expected. Minor tidal flooding often results in some Road
closures. Usually... the most vulnerable roadways will flood.

Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal
flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. The
water may be deeper than you think it is. You will be putting
yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged... leading to
costly repairs.
