Special Statement
Issued: 6:44 AM CST Dec. 11, 2016 – National Weather Service

... Snow expected today...

At 640 am, a large area of snow continued to fall across much of
Wisconsin. The northern edge of the snow extended from near
Eagle River to the northern tip of the Door Peninsula. Snow will
likely expand across the remainder of northern Wisconsin by 800
am.

Meanwhile, a band of moderate to heavy snow was located from just
east of the Minneapolis area, southeast, to around Sheboygan. This
band will shift north with time, and affect much of central and
east-central Wisconsin during the morning hours. Snowfall rates
of 1/2 to 1 inch per hour are likely along and south of Highway 29
(which runs from Wausau to Shawano to Green Bay to kewaunee) as
this band moves through. In addition, a band of lake-effect snow
showers was moving west across Lake Michigan, and approaching the
Kewaunee and Door County shorelines. The band could bring a brief
period of heavy snow to some Lakeshore locations between 700 am
and 900 am.

Most roads across the area were reported to be snow covered and
slippery. Travel conditions are likely to worsen as the snow
increases and overspreads the remainder of the area. If you are
traveling across the area this morning, use extra caution and be
sure to allow for extra travel time to reach your destination.
