... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 am akst
Tuesday...

* location... higher elevations of The Klondike Highway including
White Pass.

* Snow... 12 to 18 inches.

* Wind... 25 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph developing Monday.

* Timing... snow increases in intensity Sunday night and will be
heavy at times through Monday afternoon. Blowing snow will
increase Monday afternoon creating blizzard conditions with
near zero visibility. Blizzard conditions will persist through
Monday night before conditions begin improving early Tuesday
morning.

* Impacts... travel will be dangerous. Significant drifting will
occur. Blowing snow will reduce visibility to near zero at
times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A warning means that a winter storm is already occurring or
imminent. This storm could pose a threat to life and property.

This statement will be updated by 7 am akst Monday or sooner if
conditions warrant.




High Wind Warning

... High Wind Warning remains in effect from noon Monday to
midnight akst Monday night...

* location... near Skagway and the lower elevations of The
Klondike Highway.

* Winds... southwest winds of 30 to 45 mph with gusts around 60
mph.

* Timing... winds will increase mid-day Monday and persist through
midnight Monday night before diminishing overnight.

* Impacts... aviation travel will likely be impaired. Power
outages will be possible from downed trees.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
