... Heat advisory remains in effect until 8 PM EDT /7 PM CDT/ this
evening...

Hazardous weather...

* temperatures... highs in the lower 90s this afternoon.

* Maximum afternoon heat index values... around 100.

* Dangerous heat and humidity may continue across the area into
   Sunday.

Impacts...

* impacts... there is a high risk of heat related illnesses for
   people with prolonged outdoor exposure... or without access to
   air conditioning. The elderly... small children... and pets are
   especially susceptible to the heat.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned
room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and
neighbors.

Take extra precautions... if you work or spend time outside. When
possible... reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or
evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Wear light weight and loose fitting clothing when
possible and drink plenty of water.

rural low lying areas. Visibility in a few locations may be
reduced by the fog to a quarter mile or less. Motorists should
use extra caution and be prepared to slow down if fog banks are
encountered. Visibilities should improve by 900 am.
