Lake Wind Advisory
Issued: 5:02 AM CDT Apr. 28, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 11 am this morning to 7 am
CDT Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a lake Wind
Advisory, which is in effect from 11 am this morning to 7 am CDT
Saturday.

* Event... a tightening pressure gradient across the Southern
Plains will result in strong southerly winds increasing to 15 to
20 mph by late morning with gusts to 30-35 mph over much of East
Texas and north Louisiana, with winds increasing across extreme
southern Arkansas by early afternoon. While these winds may
briefly diminish a bit this evening, winds should increase to 15
to 20 mph with higher gusts by mid evening and persist
throughout the overnight hours.

* Timing... from 11 am CDT this morning to 7 am CDT Saturday.

* Impact... boaters should exercise caution on area lakes due to
rough chop conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
