through the late afternoon and evening hours... becoming
straight freezing rain overnight with temperatures just below
   32 degrees.

* Temperatures will rise above 32 degrees toward sunrise
Tuesday... allowing for a changeover to a cold rain.

Impacts...

* snow and sleet accumulations less than one inch... but enough
   to makes roads slippery.

* Ice accumulation of a tenth to two tenths of an inch
   expected... mainly on elevated surfaces.

* Icy roads... mainly secondary and untreated roads.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Special Statement
Issued: 8:18 PM EST Jan. 16, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 am EDT...

A wintry mix of precipitation will continue during the evening
mainly in the form of freezing rain and sleet as temperatures
linger at or just below freezing. Periods of heavier precipitation
rate will be capable of producing near one tenth inch of icing
between 9 PM and midnight.

The glazing of freezing rain, and possibly a small amount of sleet
accumulation, will produce icy conditions through the evening. Elevated
surfaces like bridges and overpasses will be most susceptible. Untreated
secondary roads and unpaved roads will remain icy.
