Special Statement
Issued: 5:12 PM EST Jan. 16, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 am EDT...

A mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain will continue in the Tri
Cities region and move into The Thumb region during the early
evening. Temperatures hovering around the freezing mark during the
afternoon will drop a few degrees below freezing with sunset and
as the wintry mix begins across the area.

Small amounts of snow and sleet accumulation, combined with a light
glazing of freezing rain, is likely through early evening. This
will produce icy conditions on elevated surfaces like bridges and
overpasses. Untreated secondary roads and unpaved roads will also
remain or become icy.
