... High surf advisory remains in effect until 2 am PST Friday...

* waves and surf... surf building to 5 to 8 ft with sets to 10 ft
this afternoon and continuing through Thursday morning. Swell
and surf will slowly lower during the day Thursday.

* Timing... through Thursday night with the highest surf expected
late this afternoon and evening.

* Tides... high tide of 4.8 to 5 ft at around 610 am today and 5.2
to 5.3 ft at around 645 am Thursday.

* Impacts... strong rip currents and dangerous swimming conditions.
Minor flooding possible at susceptible low lying beach areas
during high tide.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high surf advisory means that high surf will affect beaches in
the advisory area... producing localized beach erosion and
dangerous swimming conditions.




Small Craft Advisory
Issued: 5:33 AM PST Feb. 22, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Small Craft Advisory remains in effect until 2 am PST Friday...

* winds... northwest winds will increase today with gusts of 25 to
30 knots this afternoon and tonight before gradually lowering on
Thursday.

* Waves/seas... seas will build to 7 to 12 feet today as a swell
from 280 degrees moves into the coastal waters. The highest seas
will be over the outer coastal waters. Seas will lower Thursday
afternoon into Friday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Small Craft Advisory means that wind speeds of 21 to 33 knots
are expected to produce hazardous wave conditions to small craft.
Inexperienced mariners... especially those operating smaller
vessels should avoid navigating in these conditions.
