... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM akdt
Thursday...

* location... from the Dalton Highway west.

* Snow... with 3 to 5 inches accumulation.

* Timing... snow will start this morning and continue through
Thursday. The heaviest snow is expected tonight and early
Thursday morning.

* Impacts... visibility may be greatly reduced. Travel and
outdoor activities will be difficult.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory means that one or more winter weather
hazards are expected to cause travel difficulties.

... Snow coming to the interior...
... Big Warm up Friday through the weekend...

Snow is developing over the central interior from Denali park
north to Coldfoot this morning. A storm total of 3 to 5 inches
of snow is expected through Thursday in the Denali park area as
well as the Parks highways south of Nenana, and the Dalton and
Elliot highways north and west of Livengood. The snow will become
heavier this afternoon and continue through early Thursday. The
snow will diminish south of Livengood Thursday morning... and north
of Livengood Thursday afternoon.

In Fairbanks snow is expected to start this evening and end by
early Thursday with about 1 inch accumulation.

In the southeast interior from Delta to Northway little if any
snow is expected.

Chinook winds are expected to develop across the Alaska Range late
Thursday and continue into the weekend. This will bring very warm
temperatures to the all of the eastern interior Friday through the
weekend with highs in the 40s.
