Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 3:54 AM HST Apr. 30, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Kahoolawe, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, Oahu and The Big Island.

* Through late this afternoon

* a Kona low passing near the islands will bring the continued
threat for flash-flooding to most of the Hawaiian islands, with
the highest probabilities for flooding rains expected across
Maui County and The Big Island.

* Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to be widespread,
especially across Maui County and The Big Island. Rain will not
only affect windward areas, but will also impact urban and
leeward areas which are more susceptible to flooding problems.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
