northwestern DuPage County in northeastern Illinois...
northwestern Cook County in northeastern Illinois...

* until 930 PM CDT

* at 838 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Marengo to near Kingston, moving east at 50
mph.

Hazard... 70 mph wind gusts.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to
           Mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include...
Elgin, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Palatine, Hoffman Estates,
Buffalo Grove, Carol Stream, Carpentersville, Wheeling, St.

northern Kane... McHenry and Boone counties...

At 828 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Powers Lake to Woodstock to near Marengo to near
Kingston to near Kirkland, moving southeast at 40 mph.

Hazard... 70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to Mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Rockford, Algonquin, McHenry, Belvidere, Woodstock, Harvard, Island
Lake, Marengo, Genoa, Wonder Lake, Rockford Airport, Pistakee

... Flash Flood Watch in effect until 6 am CDT Thursday...

The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of north central Illinois and
northeast Illinois, including the following areas, in north
central Illinois, Boone, De Kalb, Lee, Ogle, and Winnebago. In
northeast Illinois, Cook, dupage, Kane, Lake IL, and McHenry.

* Until 6 am CDT Thursday.

* Training thunderstorms with heavy rainfall rates of over one
inch per hour will slowly move southeast across north central
and northeast Illinois this evening into overnight.

* Flash flooding could occur quickly posing dangerous to motorists
and those in low-lying area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
