Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 3:25 PM CST Feb. 23, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 4 am EST /3 am CST/
Friday to 1 am EST /midnight CST/ Saturday...

The National Weather Service in Marquette has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect from 4 am EST /3 am
CST/ Friday to 1 am EST /midnight CST/ Saturday.

Hazardous weather...

* expect wet and heavy snow to develop around 4 am Friday and
linger through the morning hours. There may be a time in the
afternoon and evening where snowfall becomes light and mixes in
with freezing drizzle. However snow is expected to pick back up
Friday night into early Saturday morning.

* The heaviest snowfall rates will occur between 4 am Friday and
1 PM Friday... where 2 to 4 inches of snow are possible.

* Total snow accumulations of 5 to 7 inches and ice accumulations
of one tenth of an inch are expected Friday through the day into
   Saturday morning.

Impacts...

* the wet and heavy snow will make roads slick and snow covered
   for the morning commute.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

* a Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet,
or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared
for slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution
   while driving.
