... Winter Storm Watch in effect from Thursday evening through
Friday evening...

The National Weather Service in Twin Cities/Chanhassen has issued
a Winter Storm Watch, which is in effect from Thursday evening
through Friday evening.

* Timing... rain will turn to snow Thursday evening and continue
through Friday evening.

* Snow accumulations... 6 to 12 inches are likely, with amounts of
over a foot possible.

* Winds... northeast to northwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph
resulting in considerable blowing snow and possible blizzard
conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Watch means there is a potential for significant
snow... sleet... or ice accumulations that may impact travel.

... Flood Warning continues through Thursday morning for
the Eau Claire river near Fall Creek.
* From late tonight to Thursday morning.
* At 7:30 am Tuesday the stage was 5.3 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early tomorrow and continue to
rise to near 12.3 feet by tomorrow afternoon. The river will
fall below flood stage by Thursday morning.
* Impact... at 13.0 feet... roads near the river begin to flood.
* Impact... at 11.0 feet... some park and agricultural lands become
inundated.
* Impact... at 10.0 feet... river currents become dangerous for
recreational users.
