The National Weather Service in Juneau has issued a high wind
watch... which is in effect from Friday morning through Saturday
morning.

* Location... downtown Juneau and Douglas.

* Winds... north to northeast winds with gusts of 60 to 70 mph
possible.

* Timing... peak wind late Friday night through early Saturday
morning.

* Impacts... loose objects may be blown around. Blowing snow may
reduce visibility at times. Downed trees and limbs may result
in power outages.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous
high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph, or gusts of
58 mph or stronger may occur. Continue to monitor the latest
forecasts.

This statement will be updated at 5 PM akst Thursday or sooner if
conditions warrant.
