Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 2:38 PM PST Jan. 19, 2017 – National Weather Service

... The Flood Advisory for rain and snowmelt for minor flooding in
poor drainage areas remains in effect until 215 am PST Friday for
Latah... Nez Perce... Shoshone... Lewis... Benewah... Kootenai... Adams...
Garfield... Whitman... Lincoln... Asotin and Spokane counties...

* temperatures this afternoon will be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
Melting snow will create water on streets and roads with poor
drainage. Sewer drains or culverts plugged with ice and snow will
have the potential to cause traffic hazards with water on roads.
Large puddles may also seep into homes or other structures if
precautions are not taken.

* Other potential impacts include: rises on small streams and creeks
and a small potential for ice jams on creeks and rivers as well.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive into water of unknown depth. Water from melting snow is
very cold. If your vehicle stalls... exposure to cold water could
cause hypothermia quickly.

Please report flooding to your local law enforcement agency.
