Watches & Warnings

Heat Advisory
Issued: 3:30 PM PDT Jun. 24, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Heat advisory remains in effect until 9 PM PDT Sunday...

* temperature... lows Sunday morning to be quite mild, in the mid
50s to lower 60s. Highs Sunday in the 90s.

* Timing... through Sunday.

* Impacts... the elderly, youth, and those in poor health without
air conditioning are particularly vulnerable to this heat. Drink
plenty of water, wear sunscreen and dress appropriately if
outdoors or attending any community outdoor events Sunday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Never leave children, pets, or the elderly unattended in a parked
hot vehicle, even with the windows down. Car interiors can reach
well over 100 degrees in just minutes.

Drownings tend to occur during hot spells in western Washington.
Area rivers and lakes are cold. Most rivers are running swift due
to Spring snowmelt. Cold water shock can disable anyone in no more
than 10 minutes. Wear a life jacket.
