Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:11 AM PDT Jun. 25, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning remains in effect from 5 PM this afternoon to
11 PM PDT Monday for abundant lightning on dry fuels ...

* impacts: lightning and dry fine fuels will likely result in
new fire starts. Gusty thunderstorm winds could contribute to
fire spread. Despite rainfall, initial attack resources could
be overwhelmed and holdover fires are possible.

* Fuels: while heavy fuel moistures may not be conducive to
significant fire growth, finer fuels are dry and may ignite
and carry fire.

* Thunderstorms: isolated to scattered Sunday evening through
Monday morning. Scattered to numerous Monday afternoon.

* Timing and locations: thunderstorm coverage is expected to be
greatest in the afternoons and evenings and over northern
portions of the Fremont-Winema National Forest.

* Affected area: in south central or... fire weather zone 624.

* Counties affected: in south central or... Klamath... lake.

* Wind: west 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph, strongest
Monday afternoon and evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. Scattered
thunderstorms combined with dry fuels create conditions where
many fire starts may occur in a short period of time.
