Watches & Warnings

Areal Flood Watch
Issued: 3:53 AM PST Feb. 21, 2017 – National Weather Service

... Flood Watch remains in effect until 10 am PST this morning...

The Flood Watch continues for

* a portion of southwest Oregon, including the following areas,
Curry County coast, eastern Curry County and Josephine County,
and south central Oregon coast.

* Until 10 am PST this morning

* the heaviest rain will occur along the South Coast and Coast
Range. Rainfall rates of a quarter inch per hour are expected.

* Heavy rain combined with some snow melt in higher elevations
will cause rises in streams and rivers and may cause small
streams to flood. Any thunderstorms that occur over this area
will greatly increase the flash flood risk due to heavy
rainfall rates.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
